Janitors

I read the book Janitors by: Tyler Whitesides. Janitors is a book about Spencer and his friend Daisy. Everything at there school Welcher Elementary appears normal, but one day Spencer goes into the bathroom and washes his face with soap that is by the sink. After Spencer washes his face he starts to see weird creatures that are appearing around the school and he starts to get worried. A few incidents occur where Spencer talks about the strange creatures in class and he is made fun of because no one else can see them. The only person that actually believes him is Daisy. She is very gullible and thinks that anything that someone says is true. Spencer stays after school one day and a man talks to him and says that the janitors at Spencer's school are doing things wrong. Spencer is told to get a special item at the school and give it to the man. Daisy and Spencer cause tons of trouble getting the item, but give it to the man. The Janitors, Marv and Walter tell Daisy and Spencer the truth about the creatures and they find out that they are very bad. They start to help out Marv and Walter. Little do they know that the man and his friends are trying to find a way to help the creatures and ruin schools across the nation! Read the book to find out who wins in this crazy battle...

I really liked this book. It was very interesting and it kept me intrigued. It has a hint of fantasy and realistic fiction which made me really enjoy it. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in fantasy and action.

A quote from the book is: "Spencer, Daisy, I'm afraid you've been tricked." -Walter Jamison.

New Moon

New Moon is about A girl named Bella who lives in Forks, Washington with her dad Charlie. Her parents are divorced and her mom Renee lives in Arizona with her boyfriend. Bella has a boyfriend named Edward, and he is a vampire along with the rest of his family. One day Edward and his family decide they need to leave because they aren't getting any older and people are starting to wonder why. Edward tells Bella that he is leaving and Bella goes depressed for about 2 months. Then her dad tells her she needs to go out and do stuff, so she goes and starts hanging out with her friend Jacob. Later in the book Edward finds out that Bella has been hanging out with Jacob and thinks Bella is dead. Which makes him mad so he goes to the Vultori and asks them to kill him. Edwards sister Alice finds out that he is going to the Vultori and she tells Bella that Edward is going to ask to get killed. So they go to Italy to save Edward. Read the book to find out more...

I liked the book because it was romance, and sort of adventure. And those are my favorite kind of books.

I think the people that would like it are the people who are into Romance, or adventure, or Vampires.

Quote: Edward: "I love you, you're my only reason to stay alive... if that's what I am."

The Red Pyramid

This book was about a brother and sister named Carter and Sadie Kane. They both come from two different worlds, Sadie lives with their grandparents in England and Carter lives with his dad who is a major in Egyptian mythology and they travel a lot. Carter and Sadie see each other once a year at Christmas time but this year was different. They went to an Egyptian museum where there learned that there dad was an Egyptian magician who tried to raise a god and ended up getting captured by an evil god name Set who locked him in a sarcophagus. In the story they have to rescue their father and stop Set from destroying the world while trying to figure out how to use their powers. I thought this book was great! I would rate it a ten out of ten. Anyone who likes mythology, action packed, funny books then you would love this one. This is a quote from the book when Carter said, "You know how hard it is to feel like a extreme falcon-headed combat machine when somebody calls you "Chicken Man"?"

Uglies

I have been reading the Uglies. It has been pretty good so far. It is about a girl named Tally. In Tally's world, there are uglies and pretties. The difference between the two is that a ugly is a normal regular person. To become a pretty you must first turn sixteen. Then on your sixteenth birthday you go to a special hospital and you under go a special surgery. They make you so that you look perfect. Tally's friends have all become pretties. She made a new friend named Shay. They have the same birthday so that they will never have to be a part! Then the day before their birthday's Shay decides she doesnt want to be a pretty and she runs away into the woods with a group of people that ran away so they dont have to become pretty. They call them selves the Smoke. When Tally's birthday comes, a car comes and gets her. She goes to the hospital but they tell her she can't become a pretty until she helps them find the Smoke (the group of people that ran away). Will she help them and turn in her friend? or will she help Shay and the others stay hidden?

What you do, the way you think, makes you beautiful- David, Uglies

So far I really like this book. It is so action packed. It also always has something exciting going on. It hasnt been boring yet and I am on page 299. It is really good but a little confusing. I totally recommend this book. I bet you guys will love it! I cant put it down!

Uncommon Criminals: A Heist Society Novel

Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter

This is the second book in the series.  Kat has grown up in a family of sophisticated criminals.  She tried to leave the "family business" in the Heist Society, but she was drawn back in while trying to save her dad.  Kat and her crew--Hale (her friend and love interest) and Gabrielle (her cousin), and a few others-- are famous for having robbed one of the greatest museums of the world.  After their great heist Kat has been going on solo missions by herself.  During her latest trip she stole a Cezanne painting from a house filled with former KGB agents.  After returning Kat talks to her cousin Gabrielle who says, "Our world is built on adrenaline and getting away with it...It's a far simpler life to lead when there's no one around to tell you when you're being stupid."   Later Kat is approached by an old woman to make the steal of the century, and Kat needs her crew.   Their next challenge is to steal the infamous Cleopatra emerald, that of course, is cursed.  Little do they know what awaits them.

I loved these books even before reading them because the cover reminds me of Audrey Hepburn, and some of the great movies like To Catch a Thief or more recent titles like the Ocean Eleven series and The Italian Job.  There's always a little adventure, mystery, and romance.  Both books are fun fast reads.

Hunger Games the movie

After months of speculation, we now know who will be the playing the major characters in the Hunger Games movie. Jennifer Lawrence has been cast Katniss with Liam Hensworth as Gale and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. Fans of the novel have expressed concern in the casting choices. Gary Ross, however, said casting Lawrence was "the easiest casting decision I've ever made." Just by appearance alone I'd say the director has captured the right look for each character. Lawrence almost seems too pretty until you see her transformation as Katniss that debuted on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. The adult actors are intriguing choices--Donald Sutherland as President Snow, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch, and Lenny Kravitz as Cinna. Hopefully the actors are up for the challenge. Adapting a successful book to a screenplay can be difficult, and it's practically impossible to please everyone. I'm one of those fans who recognizes that books and movies are different mediums. A movie obviously can't cover the same territory as a book. I'm eagerly awaiting the movie which will open on March 23, 2012. It's rumored we'll get our first look when a trailer for the movie is shown with Breaking Dawn.
