 Alex is a teenager who is just like you and me he is not speacial, or is he.  During this book Alex finds out he is and adventurer.  First he walks down this alley like he always does when he goes into town and he sees this sign that says "adventurers wanted," when he sees this sign he walks in to the book shop.  There is this man at the front desk asking what he wants, and Alex said "I saw the sign in your front window."  

The man gasps and that is how it all started.  When Alex crossed over into the magical world he was astonished.  The first thing that his company or group did for him was to buy him everything that he needed.  When he went to the weapon store, the store keeper analyzed him and said that he could be a wizard but Alex did not like that so he said no way and choose a sword instead.  When his companions and him start there adventure they first run into a troll.  This is not the nicest troll and this troll has three legs.  Alex and Arconn were practicing there magic cause Arconn is an elf.  Arconn taught Alex how to light a fire and put out a fire with magic.
I would recommend this book more to boys cause there is a lot of violence.  But if girls like and adventurous book then they would love this book.  This book is a lot like Lord Of The Rings, because there is three books in the series, they go and try to kill a dragon.  I hope you like my review.
