Once Upon a Marigold

Once Upon a Marigold is a very inticing love story that you will not want to put down. It starts with a troll named Ed who has been exploring the forest for most of his life. He takes his dogs Cate and Bub with him everytime for protection from anything that might be lurking in the night.

When he was exploring one day, his dogs found a little boy in a bush. So Ed took him home and let him stay with him. The boys name was Chris.

Chris loved to invent things and be very creative. There was only one thing he loved more than inventing, and that was watching the king's family go about their daily lifes. He took special notice to the youngest princess. Her name was Marigold.

Years passed and Chris finally built up the nerve to talk to her through p-mail. After gaining each others trust, Marigold told Chris about a curse that was put on her when she was born. Whenever she touched someone she could read their thoughts. Surprisingly Chris was not disturbed by this because he had nothing to hide from Marigold.

They sent letters through p-mail for about a year when Ed had some news for Chris. He thought it was time for Chris to move out and get a job. So the next day Chris heads across the river to the castle where Princess Marigold lives, in search of a job.

When he receives a job, over time Marigold and Chris meet face to face and hand to hand. Marigold takes in Chris's thoughts and discovers that he is no dirty servant, but he is her close p-mailing friend.

Marigold's mother is always trying to bring in suiters for Marigold so that she will marry and be out of the castle. But Marigold is not willing to get married without truly loving her husband. So together Chris and Marigold have to try to crash her arranged wedding so that she can have a happy life.

To find out if Chris and Marigold can find happiness and crash her wedding, I suggest you read Once Upon a Marigold.

  2. When I saw the cover I vaguely remember reading this a long time ago, but since I didn't recall much about it I enjoyed reading your plot summary. I really like fairy tale type stories. Have you read any by Jessica Day George?
