The Fairytale Detectives
Sabrina and Daphne's parents mysteriously disappeared when they were younger. They were sent to live in an orphanage. From time to time they were sent to live in Foster Homes with crazy people, but despite all of their brilliant escapes, nothing could prepare them for who's next. A woman who claims that she's their grandmother adopts them. Sabrina and Daphne would have been overjoyed, but their parents told them that their grandmother died before Sabrina was born! To top it all off their "grandmother" says that they are descendants of the fairytale writers, the Brothers Grimm. Also, the fairy tales aren't just stories, they are real events that have happened. Of course Sabrina doesn't believe her, but her little sister Daphne believes the old woman. She tries to get Daphne to leave the crazy woman, but during their attempt to run away a giant kidnaps the old woman. Now the two girls have to work together to save their grandmother.
If you like adventurous fiction books, you would like this.
My favorite quote: "How did you know that we could get him to do whatever we want if we pretended he was in charge?" Sabrina asked Daphne. "It's what I do with you," the little girl replied. "You two are exactly the same."
I loved this book, because I love fairy tales and mystery.

I have read all of the book in the series so far. These are really good books.
ReplyDeleteI've seen these books around, but haven't read any of them yet. It's interesting how fairy tales have lasted the test of time. Authors keep using them in new and interesting ways.
ReplyDeleteYou did very well on describing the story. It seems like this book is good for babysitters to read while they are babysitting :-)
