Slated
By: Teri Terry
Kyla has been slatted. Meaning in her past life she was a terrorist and the government has given her a second chance by erasing her memory. Kyla doesn't believe them.
As she gets a home with her parents the government assigned her to be. She has to learns about everything all over again like a baby. When she was slated everything was erased. personality, memories, and thoughts. Kyla doesn't now who to trust. Things get messy as she tries to find the truth about her past.
Kyla is slatted so she has a levo. a levo monitors her mood and if it gets to low she gets knocked out. She is rebellious and is trying discovering things from her past life. Ben is also slatted. He is Kylas boyfriend and they go running a lot to get there happy levels higher. The setting is in the near future. With the government slatted terrorist to give them a new life people and the AGT or anti-government terrorist trying to stop them. Kyla goes to a school and lots of thing happen there that make here more confused. There are other characters and read the book to find out more.
Who can you trust when everyone is a stranger? That is my favorite quote and it explains a lot about the plot and the story. Kyla doesn't know anyone and so everyone is a stranger. Especially with the government slating people who they claim were terrorist. Kyla doesn't know why they slatted her for she can't remember anything. It is just like or lives. We know people so we trust them but if we don't we do not trust them.
I loved this book. once I started it it was hard to put down. This book has a lot of plot twits and very good writing. All the characters were very different and the way it would keep you turning the pages was amazing. There was a few gross parts but if you like distopioan books like hunger games then you will love this amazing series.

This sounds/looks like a good book. It would be hard to imagine that I would loose my memory after I did something wrong. I bet the Kyla got really frustrated by that.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the book "The Maze Runner". Because they get their memories wiped. But in "The Maze Runner" they are put in the heart of a maze filled with deadly creatures
