Long Arm Quarterback
by: Matt Christopher
This book is about a boy named Kip who wants to play on a real football team, but the town that he lives in doesn't have enough people in it for a full team. So he and his grandpa try and start a six man football team. They get it started and they have their first practice. A player on the team comes with his grandpa who is one of the biggest rivals of Kip's Grandpa. The reason is because when they were young they played on different teams, but the other kid's grandpa breaks his leg so he can't play. So Kip's grandpa wins the championship and all's well. But soon enough this old grudge starts to hurt the team and they can't play right. So they finally play their first game and Kip starts so the other kid's grandpa gets mad and starts getting mad at the coach until finally they start losing a lot and the problem gets worse. Can the other kid's grandpa come to his senses and help the team? Read the book to find out.
People who would like this book would be anyone who likes sports and football. They would like this book because it talks about football a lot and it is a very easy read. So all of you sports fans out there you would like this book.
It's interesting how some old grudges can come back to haunt us. Sports are pretty important to most people. I hope there's some forgiveness so that the team can move forward.
