Eragon

Eragon is a book about a boy named Eragon who gets an extraordinary change to his life. In his country, Alagaesia, there is an evil ruler, King Galbatorix. Eragon explores the Spine, the forest near his home city, Carvahall. One day when he is exploring in the Spine, a bright flash comes out of nowhere, and when Eragon can see again after being nearly blinded, he sees a blue shining object, similar to a sapphire. He goes with his Uncle Garrow to a trading market to see what the gem is worth. None can identify a price, they have never seen an object like this before. Disappointed, Eragon and Garrow return home. Roran, Eragon's cousin, asks how it went. Garrow tells him about no one knows a price for the gem. That night, while Eragon is looking at the gem in wonder, he decides to get up and see what the object feels like. He touches the gem, and it feels like electrocution. After the shock, Eragon sees something he never had expected. The gem had shattered, and standing in it's place was a small, blue, baby dragon. Eragon realized, he is the first Dragon Rider in over a century. As a friend, Brom, the local storyteller, happens to know of Dragon Riders. When he sees Eragon's palm, he is shocked to see it shining, because of a gedwey ignasia, a sign Eragon is a Dragon Rider. Brom begins teaching Eragon about magic. Brom gives Eragon a pebble, and says to lift it without touching it by saying "Stenr risa." As Eragon tries and concludes it impossible to lift the pebble, Brom says, "It is impossible when I say it's impossible. Try again!" After more tries Eragon gets it up, and from that point on, Eragon and Brom go on an exciting adventure full of friends, enemies, and betrayals. This book I can recommend to anyone who loves fantasy involving magic, dragons, that kind of thing.

  4. I really liked Eragon. I am a little annoyed, though that series still isn't finished. Those that enjoy the series are wondering when the 4th book will be released, but I haven't heard anything about it.

  6. There are currently three of the four books written and published. The fourth book is still in the making. I predict that it should come out late 2011 to early 2012.
