            This is a great book! It captures your attention the second you read the first sentence. It has tons of adventure, mysteries, and lots more.

            Jack is a boy who lives with his mom. Jack absolutely loves elephants. One day, Jack and his mom decide to go on a camping trip. They pack all their camping equipment, and drive to a national park in a rental car. On the way, Jack and his mom get into a fight about Lydia. Lydia is an elephant that lives in Maine. Jack wants to stop to see her since Lydia is on the way to the national park. His mom says no and won't change her mind. Once they get to the park, they set up and go straight to sleep. When Jack wakes up, his mom and their rental car are gone. All that Jack has is a tent, a sleeping bag, and $14. He then goes on a trip to all the places he and his mom had planned to go to. On his journey he meets lots of people. Some want to help him, some want to turn him in. If he gets turned in, he is afraid that his mom will get taken away from him.

           One connection that I made was being scared. Jack was often afraid being all alone. I don't like being alone either. Jack also hated being hungry. I also hate being hungry. All he had was fourteen dollars. He never had much food to eat. He often had to steal food so that he wouldn't starve. The setting of the book is a national park. He travels a lot through Maine as well. He gets to go to Fort Knox too! The main theme of the book is, to never give up looking for something that matters a lot to you. I think that it's important to never stop looking for what you need and what you love.

            At the beginning of the book, Jack calls his mom. His mom doesn't answer so he leaves her a message. "Where are you?" was the message that he left. I really like that quote. Even though it's very simple, it has a lot of meaning and ties well into the story. He has no idea where his mom is.

            I really like this book! It is very relatable and you can make lots of connections. It's also very funny. It is very appropriate and I recommend it to all ages.               

                                              MICHAEL VEY Author Richard Paul Evans

          This book is about a teenage boy with lighting powers. This boys name is Michael Vey. Michael has his best friend Ostin and other friend Taylor. Michal is trying to find out with the help of his friends who else has these same powers.

          Michael finds out that his girl friend Taylor has these powers also but they are used in different methods. Michael and Ostin are pretty much nerds, but know Michael is starting to become and interesting kid after he takes down the high school bully Jack and his friends. Michael soon finds out that Taylor has powers. Ostin has known about Michaels powers since Michael moved in to there neighborhood, later on about 2 days after Michael knows about Taylors powers they tell Ostin. Michael, Taylor and Ostin make a club called the electro clan.

          Michael Vey is a normal average teenager that sometimes gets bullied. Michael has lighting powers. There is Michaels best friend Ostin. Ostin is a kid that is really smart and kind of a nerd. Since no one really knows who Ostin is they sometimes forget his name and think his name is Houston, Dallas, Antonio etc. Taylor is a popular girl that is a cheerleader. Michael has a crush on Taylor. Taylor also has powers like Michael but they are used to control peoples brains and reboot them. All of this story happens when there in high school.

         My favorite quote in Michael Vey is"They're two children among a billon finding them is like finding a lost chop stick in China". I like that quote because it would be hard to find someone with out knowing were they are or any contact. That is saying in the books trying to find the other fifteen kids with powers would be really hard.

          This book is a really good book this book is now since i read it, it is my favorite book i have ever read. If someone asked me if they should read this book I would tell them that they should totally read this book. This book is really good because there a lot of everything, there is humor, mystery, action and everything.

The Lions of Little Rock by: Kristin Levine

What would you do if the friend you have been waiting for your whole life is suddenly taken away from you? That is what happens to Marlee, a quiet, shy 12 year old girl living in Little Rock Arkansas in 1958. Kristin Levine portrays a story of trust, true friendship, hard work, and a hope for the future in this beautiful well written novel.

Marlee Nisbett's live changes for good when her older brother moves off to college and her sister moves out of the room they have shared since before Marlee can remember. Whats more is Marlee is starting middle school, where she has to start all over making sure everyone knows that she doesn't like to talk. Marlee barely says a word to anyone outside the family, and she doesn't plan on changing that, until she meats Liz. Liz is the new girl in the middle school. She is brave, bold, and basically the complete opposite of Marlee. But Marlee's and Liz's differences are what makes them perfect friends. Liz helps Marlee learn to speak up, and Marlee teaches Liz how she can less outspoken when she needs to be. But when Liz suddenly dissapears, people are led to believe Liz was really a colored girl passing as white. Desprate to keep thier friendship, Marlee searches for Liz, all the wile trying to think of a way they could still be friends. But being friends is harder than Liz thinks. Being friends with a colored girl can bring danger to both Marlee, Liz and both their families. What are they willing to risk to hold true to "Best friends forever"?

I think The Lions of Little Rock is a very touching story filled with characters who make you feel as though you are actually there, living in 1958. They way Kristin Levine craftily weaves this story's characters together, forms an unbreakable bond that makes me, when I read the book, feel as though I am a part of it. Marlee and I are both shy, which makes it easier for me to understand her, and her place in the story. I loved this book, and I think you might enjoy it to. If you are interested in the fight against segregation, then this is the book for you.

"Because all the words in the world won't do much good if they're just rattling around in your head." says Liz in The lions of little rock, when she is convincing Marlee that she needs to speak up. This quote is important beacuse it states how important words are. You can't change anything just by thinking somthing, you have to voice it. Marlee's older sister, Judy, also says; “I think a friend is someone who helps you change for the better. And whether you see them once a day or once a year, if it's a true friend, it doesn't matter.” I think that quote is so true, and it states the whole purpose of the book perfectly.

I think this book is amazing and tells a story more people need to hear. Hear about what a true friend is, and how to find one. This book will make you laugh, cry, and smile through all the twists and turns in Marlee's life. It may not be a high-in-action book, but it will have you on the edge of your seat with anticipation of what might happen next. I loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone who will read it. It is a story well-worth telling.

The Unwanteds

     In the magical world of Quill, creativity is not welcome, it is a crime. There are three different types of people in Quill. There are Wanteds, they are to go to the Wanteds university and they will be people in the government; the Nessecaries, they work and do chores for the Wanteds; finally, the Uwanteds, they are sent to die outside the gate at the purge. Alex is Unwanted because he was caught drawing in the ground but his twin brother is Wanted. When Alex and all the other Unwanteds are left to die they find the magical world of Atrime. In Atrime creativity is encouraged. But when Alex exposes Atrime trying to find his twin brother there is war.

     This book encourages you to be creative to go out and create. Good things happen when you are creative. It shows to stand up for what you think is right not what others do. In Quill they say you should not be creative and they punish you for it. But if you are then you can go to Atrime and have all the fun you want.
   "Welcome we've been expecting you." This quote is said by a flying tortoise in Atrime when they first get there. It is important because it shows that they will not die but will be accepted into Atrime after they were cast out of Quill. They are expecting to die but this quote shows them that they will not die and they will be saved.

     I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves reading. This book had all the good thing a book should need. I hardly could but it down once I opened it up. It always keeps you guessing and introduces new things that make it better. It is a good read for every age and is a good book to read and just immerse yourself in a different world. Also there are more books so it will keep you occupied for a while. I recommend this to any reader that needs a good book.

     "When water meets blood, blood will rise..." That is the prophecy Bramblestar receives. If you love fantasy and cats, you will love this Warriors Super Edition. It is perfect for new readers and old Warriors fans alike.
     The Great Battle is over and Firestar is dead. Taking his place is Bramblestar, the old ThunderClan deputy. It has been six moons since the death of Firestar, the four Clans have been at peace. But then the storm comes. Bramblestar is left confused and not knowing what choices to make for his Clan. He wants to be like Firestar, but isn't sure what choices he should make. Then he receives the prophecy, "When water meets blood, blood will rise..."
     This book takes place at the Lake Territory. The place that the characters are in the most is the secret tunnels that  go under WindClan territory and ThunderClan territory. They also explore ShadowClan territory and RiverClan territory. they even go to the Twolegplace. Where there is trouble, Bramblestar is there.
     "We've survived six moons since the Great Battle, and now we'll start to build up our strength again. Nothing will destroy ThunderClan!" Says Bramblestar. Bramblestar says this to his Clan so that they will feel better about their upcoming future. This quote shows Bramblestar's faith that everything will be better and that things can only go uphill from there. I love this quote because it shows that the Clans have not given up and that they will continue to try to survive.
     I recommend this book to all those cat people out there. This book is worth the time that it takes to be read. There is a lot of suspense and adventure in this one single book. I hope you will enjoyit as much as I have.
