Fablehaven

This book is called Fablehaven. In the book two kids named Kendra and Seth are sent to their grandparents house they are told not to go into the woods or the barn. But of course they break the rules. Later on in the book they find out that the property they are staying on is actually a magical preserve. The discover all kinds of new creatures. Then all of the people get caught and Kendra is the only one left. She decides to go in and try to save them. And the rest of the book is for you to find out! In the book Kendra says "I'm scared maybe I should run... but I have to save them". I think all ages of people would like this book, because it's good and for all ages.

Goose Girl by Shannon Hale

Princess Isi was taught wind-speech  by her aunt.  Her aunt said "I can understand what they say, I can teach you if you'd like."  Her mother thinks she is crazy and sends her to a foreign country to be queen.  On the way her own country attempts a cuop d'etat but the princess escapes and becomes a Goose Girl for the castle while her assistant takes Isi's place as queen.  Isi falls in love with the man she was supposed to marry.  The book is in a series and the stories just get better.  If you like to read about love, war, sabotage, and humor this is the book for you. 

Lightning Thief

Lightning Thief is about a boy named Percy Jackson who is a half blood child of the Greek gods. He has lived a troubled life by getting kicked out of 5 schools He's dyslexic, ADHD, never fits in with the other students, and his mother had him with a powerful rich man who vanished into the sea. His only friends are his classics teacher, Mr. Brunner and Grover Underwood who support him from a student that has to do with bullies and monsters. He starts getting that he's a half blood when a teacher reveals herself as a monster and attacks him. After Mr. Brunner gives a pen to him telling him that it is a powerful weapon

Then he is taken to Camp Half Blood where the half god and half human kids go for training. Then he starts finding out that Zeus accuses Poseidon's son Percy and gives fourteen days to Poseidon to return his lightning bolt or Zeus would start a war against his brother.On the way to the camp Sally his mom is attacked by a Minotaur and vanishes before Percy can help her. In the camp Percy becomes friends with Annabeth.But he thinks his mom may be dead and that means she’s in the Underworld so he has to rescue her. He and his friends Annabeth and Grover travel all over to get the pearls which is the only way to get out of the underworld. They travel to find out clues to how to get there. My favorite quote from the book is "If my life is going to mean anything, I have to live it myself." I think this book is good for anyone one who likes action and adventure and mythology.

A Child Called "IT"

"My relationship with mom drastically changed from discipline to punishment that grew out of control. It became so bad at times, I had no strength to crawl away-even if it meant saving my life." (Chapter 3, Bad Boy, pg. 29) Would you like to be this boy? This book is both sad and intense. If you are looking for a book that is sad but entertaining this is it. I would not read this book if you hate books that are sad and disturbing. This book is about a little boy that goes through hard times as a child like getting abused, getting made fun of and most of all scared of his family. It is really sad to know that this really happens in real life and I think we should try to be more aware of it. A Child Called "IT" is a book that will mix your emotions and is very well written. This little boy has a lot of courage to do a lot of what he does in this book. I was amazed at how much this boy did in the years of his hard life.

20,000 Leagues Under the sea

The book that I read was 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. It's about a scientist and two of his really good friends go out to sea. While they are sailing something hits the bottom of their boat, and the boat gets destroyed leaving them the only people left. In the end its really sad. The rest is for you to find out. Sometimes this book will confuse you so you will have to read it again. If you're into adventure, and if you like non-stop action you will love this book.one of the quotes from the book is. "The people over there are cannibals. They eat liars with the same enthusiasm as they eat honest men".

Code of the Claw

Code of the Claw is the last installment of Suzanne Collins series Gregor the Overlander. It takes place in an under ground world full of strange and unique creatures. Gregor is a human in this strange world and part of a old prophesy that requires him to kill The Bane, a colossus white rat, and his followers. Gregor must also break the code of claw (hence the name) in order to save Regalia (one of the last remaining free cities)."Remember even in war there is a time for restraint. a time to hold back your sword."

Being Sixteen by Allyson Braithwaite Condie
