Flip

                                                                        Flip

Flip, by Martyn Bedford is about a boy named Alex who one day mysteriously wakes up in someone else's bed, in someone else's house, in a different part of the country, and 6 months further in time than he was just the night before.  He has no idea where he is or whose house he is in, he only knows that he must figure it out fast.  After he gets up from bed, he sees himself in the mirror.  The reflection staring back is not his face, body or anything.  Alex is a totally different person!  As the first day of being trapped in this other boy's body he discovers where he is and what he boy's name is. Philip, Flip for short.  The setting is in Leeds, England in present day.

Some terms and phrases in this book may be hard for some to understand since the author is British.  For me, I understood all of the phrases and terms because I have friends that currently live in Ireland and they say the same things. I never thought that I would like any other books besides the Pretty Little Liars series (I'm not a big reader) but this is the first book I've read that I've actually really liked.

As Alex, or "Flip" discoverers who he is, he must also try to find a way home and back to himself before it's too late to change himself back to Alex

I would recommend this book for girls and boys of the ages 13 to 18.  The book is about  youth so I think the youth would enjoy it best!

By: Doug Tennepel
This book is about a dad named mike and his son named cam.One day mike was coming home from work and found a stand that was selling old toys.It was cams birthday so he stopped by. The person that was selling the toys was weird and crazy. Mike asked if he had anything cool for under a dollar. The crazy guy said ''we have magic cardboard''. But the dad thought he was crazy and that its not magic. But he bought it. Before he left the crazy man forgot to tell him something, the rules about the cardboard. When he gets home he and his son make a boxing cardboard robot and does not now the secrets about the cardboard.

It came alive, it was really magic. They had lots of fun with the robot and wanted to make another person but they were almost out of cardboard and did not have enough to make a second one. Cams neighbor arcus is not a nice person and bullies him and all the other neighbors. When arcus finds out about the cardboard he wants cam to give it to him but he does not. when cam was sleeping he soon finds out that the cardboard is gone, what Marcus does not now is that something terrible is going to happen
characters: Mike, Cam, and Marcus.
Setting: takes place in Cams house, out side and in Marcus's house.
I think any one from 11 years old to 14 years old would like this book.
favorite quote: Is this ever going to end! said cam.

For reasons unknown to us right know, Liesel's mother is taking Liesel and her little brother Werner by train to live with foster parents, Hans and Rosa Hubermann. The Hubermanns live on Himmel Street in the town of Molching, Germany. Sadly, Werner dies on the train. Before Liesel arrives in Molching, she attends her brother's burial in a snowy graveyard. She steals The grave Diggers Handbook from the cemetery after it falls from a young grave digger's coat. The problem is, Liesel can't read. After arriving on Himmel Street, Liesel takes an immediate liking to her foster father, Hans, who begins to teach her to read. Her foster mother, Rosa, at first seems scary and abusive, but as we get to know her better, we can see love behind Rosa's coarseness. In addition to her foster parents, Liesel meets her soon to be best friend and neighbor, Rudy Steiner. He will soon become the Clyde to her Bonnie in the stealing of books, and, occasionally, food. The sequel to this book is The Shoulder Shrug.
