When the Bough Breaks
When the bough breaks is about a girl named Rachel that looses her dad in a car accident. Rachel had no idea what was going on until she got home from her friends house and saw that police cars were outside of her house with the light on.
From there everything has turned upside down, her mom is devastated and her brother, Ryan, starts to drink and do bad things. Then this guy, Mr. Ackerman shows up at her house and asks for her mom. Her mom is still in bed when she goes to get her so she invites Mr. Ackerman in. When the mom is up and out of bed she comes out and he stands up and he says that Ryan was in a fight with his son, Dillon, and that Ryan broke Dillon's cheekbone.
The book has a lot of surprises, they come so fast and with somewhat of a warning that the only thing to do is guess when they will happen.
If there was a scale from 1-10 on how good it was it was a 9. This book was very slow in the beginning but then it just got better and better as the chapters were read.
Alex Rider Stormbreaker
This book is really cool. I usually don't like reading but I couldn't stop reading this book. I think that someone who likes action books that surprise you will love this book. This book is about a 14 year old kid in England that has an uncle that dies. He later figures out that his uncle was part of an organization called MI6. MI6 later has Alex do some work for them as a 14 year old spy. Alex receives some training to learn how to be a spy and he gets some cool gadgets. he is a beginner and still learning a lot. "If that was real life you'd be dead," the sergeant said.

Cammie Morgan goes to Gallagher Academy, an all-girls school for Exceptional Young Women. Which in fact is a spy school. Cammie can break CIA codes, talk in fourteen different languages, and kill a man in seven different ways with her bare hands, but nothing she has learned can prepare her for a perfectly normal boy she meets. Can Cammie have a normal relationship with a normal boy, while keeping her school’s secret?
Find out in I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You.If you like thrilling, romantic, books, then you would like this book.
Favorite Quote: "This is only Phase One," she said, sounding hurt. "Do I want to know what Phase Two is?" I asked. Liz just looked at me for a long moment and then said, "Go back to sleep."
I absolutely loved this wonderful book! If you read it, I think that you would like it too.
Janitors
I read the book Janitors by: Tyler Whitesides. Janitors is a book about Spencer and his friend Daisy. Everything at there school Welcher Elementary appears normal, but one day Spencer goes into the bathroom and washes his face with soap that is by the sink. After Spencer washes his face he starts to see weird creatures that are appearing around the school and he starts to get worried. A few incidents occur where Spencer talks about the strange creatures in class and he is made fun of because no one else can see them. The only person that actually believes him is Daisy. She is very gullible and thinks that anything that someone says is true. Spencer stays after school one day and a man talks to him and says that the janitors at Spencer's school are doing things wrong. Spencer is told to get a special item at the school and give it to the man. Daisy and Spencer cause tons of trouble getting the item, but give it to the man. The Janitors, Marv and Walter tell Daisy and Spencer the truth about the creatures and they find out that they are very bad. They start to help out Marv and Walter. Little do they know that the man and his friends are trying to find a way to help the creatures and ruin schools across the nation! Read the book to find out who wins in this crazy battle...

The Red Pyramid
This book was about a brother and sister named Carter and Sadie Kane. They both come from two different worlds, Sadie lives with their grandparents in England and Carter lives with his dad who is a major in Egyptian mythology and they travel a lot. Carter and Sadie see each other once a year at Christmas time but this year was different. They went to an Egyptian museum where there learned that there dad was an Egyptian magician who tried to raise a god and ended up getting captured by an evil god name Set who locked him in a sarcophagus. In the story they have to rescue their father and stop Set from destroying the world while trying to figure out how to use their powers. I thought this book was great! I would rate it a ten out of ten. Anyone who likes mythology, action packed, funny books then you would love this one. This is a quote from the book when Carter said, "You know how hard it is to feel like a extreme falcon-headed combat machine when somebody calls you "Chicken Man"?"

Uncommon Criminals: A Heist Society Novel
This is the second book in the series. Kat has grown up in a family of sophisticated criminals. She tried to leave the "family business" in the Heist Society, but she was drawn back in while trying to save her dad. Kat and her crew--Hale (her friend and love interest) and Gabrielle (her cousin), and a few others-- are famous for having robbed one of the greatest museums of the world. After their great heist Kat has been going on solo missions by herself. During her latest trip she stole a Cezanne painting from a house filled with former KGB agents. After returning Kat talks to her cousin Gabrielle who says, "Our world is built on adrenaline and getting away with it...It's a far simpler life to lead when there's no one around to tell you when you're being stupid." Later Kat is approached by an old woman to make the steal of the century, and Kat needs her crew. Their next challenge is to steal the infamous Cleopatra emerald, that of course, is cursed. Little do they know what awaits them.
I loved these books even before reading them because the cover reminds me of Audrey Hepburn, and some of the great movies like To Catch a Thief or more recent titles like the Ocean Eleven series and The Italian Job. There's always a little adventure, mystery, and romance. Both books are fun fast reads.
